While the Cleveland Browns did not create fireworks through the air a year ago, even after potential top-ten quarterback Deshaun Watson returned to the lineup, there was one positive thing to say about them.
Both Watson and Jacoby Brissett took care of the football.
According to Football Insights on Twitter, Watson was at the bottom of the league in both interceptions and turnover-worthy plays in 2022. Brissett put the ball in harm’s way a bit more but is still on the right side of the graph in terms of turnovers.
The Browns will trade a few more interceptions if it means more successful shots down the field, however. The top quarterbacks in the league were near the top in turnover-worthy throws and interceptions a year ago, so the more risk, the more reward.
Can Watson create chunk plays through the air while also protecting the football this season?
