Cleveland Browns left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. left the Week 9 matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and Browns with an air cast on his leg. Wills had the back of his leg rolled up during a tackle and went to the ground immediately in pain. Wills exited the game earlier with a knee injury and decided to return and finish out the game.
This is very saddening news for Wills who is playing in the final year of his contract. The much-maligned tackle was playing at a high level this season. His injury could cost him a lot during contract negotiations.
Wills will mark the third offensive starter the Browns have lost to injury for the season. Fellow tackle Jack Conklin Jr. and star running back Nick Chubb were injured at the start of the season. The Browns will need to dig deep to find an acceptable replacement for Wills. Backup swing tackle James Hudson III has replaced him in this game.
