The Cleveland Browns will likely be without linebacker Jacob Phillips the rest of the way. Today, head coach Kevin Stefanski stated that his starting MIKE linebacker has sustained a pectoral injury that will end his 2022 season. Phillips is the second linebacker to go down with a season-ending injury this year after Anthony Walker Jr. also went down in Week 3.
After getting his feet wet in this week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Deion Jones will need to get ready to start full-time at MIKE with the injury to Phillips. Injuries have marred Phillips’ career thus far, and now dealing with another season-ending bout, the Browns are going to have to look elsewhere for a long-term answer in the middle of their defense.
