Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski showed yet again that he is one of the better coaches in the NFL. During the broadcast on Sunday, CBS showed a graphic that Stefanski is 18-7 (19-7 after Sunday) in games following a loss the previous week.
It isn’t always perfect but his players play hard for him and are almost always in a position to win. Considering all the adversity Stefanski has encountered in his four seasons as the head coach in Cleveland it shows you how good of a coach he actually is.
Look at this season, for example. He lost his All-Pro right tackle in Week 1, lost Nick Chubb in Week 2, and had a practice squad QB for three games. The overall quality of quarterback play has been abysmal outside of a couple of games and this team is still 5-3 with some dominating victories and some hard-fought wins.
Now Stefanski has his franchise quarterback healthy and if they can continue to grow as an offense, this team is a legitimate contender – and that success starts with the head coach.
