As the Cleveland Browns get set to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars needing a win after dropping two in a row, they got rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson back on the practice field. Still limited, however, and still in the concussion protocol, veteran quarterback Joe Flacco took the majority of the first-team reps during Wednesday’s practice.
Even as a limited participant, the Browns would have given Thompson-Robinson an uptick in reps if they thought he had a chance to start on Sunday. The indication is that Flacco will start for the second straight week, even if Thompson-Robinson clears the concussion protocol.
The Jaguars also look likely to field a backup quarterback after the injury to Trevor Lawrence on Monday Night Football. There is a strong chance Sunday’s matchup at Cleveland Browns Stadium is a showdown between Flacco and C.J. Beathard.
