Browns Coffee Corner: Deshaun Watson practices, Gardner Minshew, more Colts news

Did you miss yesterday’s Cleveland Browns news and content? No worries! We’ve got you covered. As the Browns are now just two days away from taking on Gardner Minshew and the Indianapolis Colts, a huge piece of news dropped through the pipeline as quarterback Deshaun Watson returned to the practice field in Berea.

Sitting at 3-2, the Browns have a chance to end the week at the top of the AFC North with a win, if the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions take care of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens respectively. The Browns have had their highs this season, but they have also had a couple of lows as well. Can they stack back-to-back wins for the first time in 2023 this weekend as they travel to Indianapolis?

That is the end goal. However, there is news to catch up on before we get to Sunday. Here is all of the Browns news you might have missed from yesterday. Enjoy!

Deshaun Watson has returned. There is still no announcement if he will play or not, but he did throw the football in front of the media on a limited basis. If he cannot go in this game, P.J. Walker will once again get the start.

The Browns opened up as 1.5-point favorites over the Colts. Since Watson practiced, however, that line has doubled to three (via BetMGM). Does Vegas know something we don’t know?

Colts have trust in Gardner Minshew

After losing the fourth overall pick Anthony Richardson for the season, the Colts have no choice but to trust Gardner Minshew moving forward. Here is what head coach Shane Steichen had to say on Minshew:

“This is Gardner’s team and we’ve got a ton of confidence in Gardner and his abilities moving forward and this offense, the defense, and special teams. We’ve got a great opportunity this week to go against the Browns and go compete… Again, we have a ton of faith in Gardner and his ability to go operate at a high level” (via Pro Football Talk).

Regardless, expect a healthy dose of Jonathan Taylor.
