The NFL trade deadline is vastly approaching, and general manager Andrew Berry is not sitting on his hands. The Cleveland Browns have already been rumored to be in the market for a wide receiver, but now a report out of Washington has surfaced as well. According to NBC Sports’ JP Finley, the Browns are “chasing” quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Washington Commanders as the deadline nears.
Brissett, of course, posted career-highs in Cleveland last year as he filled in for the suspended Deshaun Watson. The Browns went 4-7 with Brissett under center but did so while being supported by the NFL’s worst defense in that span.
Currently starting PJ Walker with no return of Watson on the table at this point, the Browns are desperate for an upgrade at quarterback. Given Brissett’s familiarity with the team and head coach Kevin Stefanski, this would fit like a glove.
The NFL trade deadline is at 4 PM EST today.
Josh Harris ok’d a James Harden trade last night, what comes today? Talked w a bunch of people across league and Montez Sweat trade seems most likely, especially if new contract on table. Multiple teams interested w NFC South a major player. Also been told Cleveland chasing…
