Brothers face sentence for inflicting grievous bodily harm

Brothers face the risk of prison after admitting a serious assault. The pair appeared at Bristol Crown Court today.

Clinton Jackson, 27, of Eva Turner Close, Hengrove, and Jamie Jackson, 21, of Pine Grove, Horfield, both denied inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on Daniel Ferris on December 3, 2021. But both pleaded guilty to an alternative charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm and their pleas were accepted.

Richard Posner, prosecuting, told the court: "This is a serious assault. There was intent to cause serious injury but I cannot prove it was more than reckless."

Caighli Taylor, defending Clinton Jackson, and James Haskell, defending Jamie Jackson, were given leave to arrange pre-sentence reports for their clients pending sentences on August 9. Judge Michael Cullum told the pair: "You have pleaded guilty to serious, serious offences, with serious injury caused.

"All options will be open to the sentencing judge. Just because I am adjourning the case, giving you bail and ordering pre-sentence reports do not read into that anything concerning sentence."
