Brookside actor James Caroll has sadly passed away, according to reports.
The late actor was best known to soap fans for playing Brian ‘Bumper’ Humphreys on the now-axed Channel 4 soap between 1988 and 1991. James most recently made an appearance on screen playing Mary Taylor’s friend Colin in Coronation Street earlier this year.
The star also had roles in a series of short films including Inside Number 37 and Mother's Body. His death was reported in the Mirror on Thursday (June 9).

He had previously been poorly with pneumonia in early 2020 but had since made a full recovery. Friends of the late actor are believed to have confirmed the news on Facebook today.
James, who was from Huyton, was living in Preston at the time of his death. Friends have paid tribute to James on social media.
One said: "RIP James you absolute legend ... The world has lost a truly amazing man." Another wrote: "R.I.P James so shocked to hear such sad news thoughts and condolences go out to the family at this sad time".
