Brooks Koepka secured his second LIV Golf League victory of the year with an impressive performance at The Greenbrier. Koepka shot a remarkable 7-under 63 to outshine Jon Rahm in a playoff that ended with Koepka sealing the win with a par on the first playoff hole.
Jon Rahm, who had a two-shot lead at the start of the final round, displayed a strong finish with a closing round of 65. Rahm's birdies on two of the last three holes helped him match Koepka's score of 19-under 191, leading to the playoff.
The playoff took place at the challenging par-3 18th hole, where Rahm faced difficulties by going over the green and into a bunker. Despite a tough shot with one foot in the sand, Rahm managed to blast out to about 25 feet. However, his par putt to extend the playoff narrowly missed the cup, giving Koepka the victory.
This win marks Koepka's second triumph in the LIV Golf League this year, adding to his earlier victory at LIV Golf Singapore. With this win, Koepka now boasts five career victories since the inception of the Saudi-funded league in June 2022.
Jason Kokrak delivered a stellar performance with a round of 63, securing a third-place finish. Meanwhile, Richard Bland, the 51-year-old English golfer who had previously won two senior majors this year, narrowly missed out on tying for the lead after needing a birdie on the 18th hole but making a bogey instead.
In the team competition, Koepka's squad, Smash, emerged victorious by a margin of three shots, further solidifying Koepka's dominance in the league.
