Brooklyn man killed after being dragged on subway tracks

  • A 57-year-old Brooklyn man named Yaw Boahene died on Monday evening in a subway train accident in New York City .
  • Boahene was exiting the train when his shopping bag became caught in the closing doors.
  • The moving train pulled him onto the tracks, where he was run over as it departed the Brooklyn station.
  • Emergency personnel pronounced Boahene dead at the scene, and police are continuing their investigation.
  • Similar fatal dragging accidents have periodically occurred in New York City's subway system, including a 2022 incident in Manhattan.
