Brooklyn Beckham's in-laws hire 'ferocious' lawyer amid bitter wedding lawsuit

The mega-rich family of Nicola Peltz are suing the wedding planners for botching her £3m ceremony to Brooklyn Beckham and have hired a "ferocious" lawyer to represent them in the legal battle.

Martin "Mad Dog" Singer is well known in Hollywood for his "pit bull tactics" in the court room and will use his skills to help the Peltz clan - as they sue an event firm they sacked just three weeks before the lavish bash last April.

Nicola's father Nelson Peltz claims planners of the three-day wedding at his Florida home were unable to cope with the magnitude of the occasion. However, the event firm are also suing the Peltz family and are seeking tens of thousands in damages.

Singer has been hired by big stars like Bill Cosby, Prince Andrew, Sylvester Stallone and Charlie Sheen to salvage their reputations and charges clients £800 an hour for his services. The Mirror reports that Nicola is worried the ordeal could also damage her name, which is why she wants to bring in the "big guns".

“Singer is famous for his pit bull tactics and that is what Nicola is looking for," one source said. "This ongoing legal case has the potential to really damage her reputation and she is not taking it lightly, so has called in the big guns.

"He is ferocious in legal battles and his reputation precedes him. Hiring him will cost millions but she and her family feel it’s worth the money.”

The legal fight is said to be stressing out Transformers actress Nicola, 28, and giving 24-year-old Brooklyn’s mum Victoria sleepless nights.

Nicola’s billionaire dad Nelson Peltz, 80, is suing Nicola Braghin and Arianna Grijalba, who helped plan the three-day wedding at his vast estate in Palm Beach, Florida, last April. Mr Peltz, who founded the Wendy’s burger chain, hired them six weeks before the do when the previous planner left by “mutual agreement”.

But he sacked them just nine days later, accusing them of being unable to cope with the size of the occasion, and wants his £132,000 deposit back. Arianna and Nicola have filed a counter claim for breach of contract – branding him a “billionaire bully”.

They are also seeking damages of at least £41,000, plus costs from bride Nicola, her mother Claudia and wedding designer Rishi Patel. They claim things were so disorganised – with multiple guest lists and a bride allegedly too busy to speak on the phone – that things went downhill quickly. The chaos is revealed in court papers which include hundreds of messages.

Nicola allegedly splurged £85,000 on her hair and make-up – and her mum is said to have asked planners not to tell Nelson.

The source added: “The feeling is this could spiral out of control and end up affecting Nicola and the rest of the family very badly. The hope is that Singer can stop that happening.”

Nicola and Victoria also allegedly feuded over the bride’s choice of dress. The Peltz family were contacted for comment.
