Brooklyn Beckham has been axed as the face of Superdry after less than a year’s contract with the brand.
The clothing company confirmed they are no longer working with Brooklyn, 23, in a statement in which they they said Superdry was following “a different range of talent” for their upcoming campaign.
Last November, it was reported that Brooklyn signed an ambassador deal with the fashion brand worth an impressive £1 million.
However, it has since been announced that the eldest son of parents David and Victoria Beckham very proud will part ways with the brand.
A Superdry spokesperson said: “Superdry works with a range of brand ambassadors and enjoyed working with Brooklyn during the launch of our new flagship Oxford Street store and during our Autumn/Winter 21 campaign.
“We always review the ambassadors who feature in our campaigns and decided to work with a different range of talent for Spring/Summer 22.”
News of the setback comes after Brooklyn’s wife Nicola Peltz, whom he married in April, spoke of the pressure he often feels “to please” others when it comes to his career.
Brooklyn first had dreams of becoming a football star like his dad, however those ended, when he was rejected from the Arsenal Youth football team aged 16.
He then dabbled in photography and modelling, and even bagged a campaign with Burberry, before her found his passion in cooking, of which he shares currently on TV and social media.
Nicola told Tatler that Brooklyn was under “a lot of pressure to please people with his career and he didn’t love it” and is now “in heaven” as films his show Cookin’ with Brooklyn.
“Ever since the pandemic, all he’s wanted to talk about is being in the kitchen, so I just started filming him one day, I said, ‘This is what you love,’” she said.
The actress added that Brooklyn’s father-in-law and billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, is always on hand to give him great career advice.
She said: “Brooklyn is getting into very exciting things with his shows and also business things and it’s really sweet.
“I watch him call my dad and say, ‘What do you think about this?’ I love watching him learn from my dad.”
