Brooklyn Beckham could end 'feud' with David and Victoria but 'wants public apology'

Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz have said they are willing to end their stalemate with David and Victoria if they receive a public apology, it has been reported.

The iconic family is said to have been severed by a “feud” – dividing the family unit from eldest son Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz stateside in California.

Brooklyn was notably missing while his dad was knighted by King Charles at Windsor Castle last week, followed by a Michelin dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s Chelsea restaurant.

When the honour was announced, Brooklyn did not congratulate his dad on achieving a lifelong dream, and missed several big family milestones, including his David’s 50th birthday.

According to an insider, although a public apology won’t resolve all the family’s issues, it would go a long way to heal the “anti-Nicola” rhetoric the couple believe is now in the press as a result of the family’s attitude towards her.

A source told the Mail: “There is an obvious first step which would be a public acknowledgement [by David and Victoria] of what they did, and an apology. It cannot be a performative thing. There is no realistic chance of a reconciliation without that happening first.”

They added: “It is hard to understand the intensity and the escalation. It seems that they thought they could heap abuse on Nicola without any consequence. They did not let up.

“It matters what was written. It seemed as if things were being said without any regard being paid to the impact on Brooklyn. He is loyal to his wife.”

David and Victoria have never publicly acknowledged the feud, although hints were dropped by Victoria in an interview released in promotion of her Netflix documentary.

During The Sunday Times interview, she mentioned Oasis’ reunion tour, drawing parallels between the music legend brothers and the Beckham siblings.

The rift allegedly stems from the Beckham family’s mistreatment of Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz (Getty Images for Academy Museum)

She said: “I just think their mum must be so happy. It must have been really tough on the mum, the boys not talking for all those years.

“And I just think as a mum, that must be… she must feel so happy to see her boys getting on.”

The fashion icon was described as becoming “lost in thought for a moment” by the interviewer after making the comment.

The alleged family feud is said to date back four years to Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding.

Victoria made some loaded comments about the alleged feud in an interview with The Sunday Times (Netflix)

Some report that the tension began when Nicola chose to pass on Victoria’s wedding dress design, instead opting for Valentino. Others claim it was Victoria who changed her mind on the idea.

Tensions deepened just before the couple’s first dance, when Marc Anthony described Victoria as the “most beautiful woman in the room” a comment the Peltzs took exception to.

In the following years, the family were spotted taking happy family photos and remained a unit at public events, but this year that fell apart.

Perhaps the most concrete evidence came in August when the couple renewed their vows, presided over by Nicola’s billionaire father Nelson, without any of the Beckham’s present.
