The Denver Broncos’ showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday could be a snow game.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect until noon on Sunday. The warning calls for “heavy snow” with possible snow accumulations between 4 and 10 inches between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
The Broncos had a snow game against the Chiefs on the road in 2019, a game Kansas City won 23-3. One season later, Denver had snow flurries in a 43-16 home loss to the Chiefs in 2020.
Even non-Broncos fans and non-Chiefs fans have expressed excitement for the possibility of a snow game on Twitter/X.

Unfortunately, much of the snow on the field could be cleared in time for kickoff on Sunday, judging from recent weather updates.
#Broncos forecast tomorrow: Snow is mostly pregame. Game itself is just cold with maybe an early flurry.
Accumulating snow should be done by noon. Give yourself TONS of extra time heading to Mile High.#9wx #COwx @mikeklis @Scotty_G6 @9NEWSSports pic.twitter.com/R2xMByb0A9

Football fans will still be holding out hope for a snow game, though, and nobody can blame them. Snowy football games are wildly entertaining. Here’s to hoping for a safe day of snowy football in Week 8.
