Broncos to sign QB Jarrett Stidham to 2-year contract

The Denver Broncos plan to sign quarterback Jarrett Stidham to a two-year, $10 million contract, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The two-year deal will include $5 million guaranteed, but it will not become official until the NFL’s new league year begins on Wednesday.

Stidham (6-2, 218 pounds) entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick out of Auburn with the New England Patriots in 2019. After spending three years in New England, Stidham was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of the 2022 season.

Stidham started two games for the Raiders last year, completing 63.9% of his passes for 656 yards with four touchdowns against three interceptions. He is now poised to serve as Russell Wilson’s backup in Denver.

The Broncos created an opening at backup quarterback when they declined to pick up Brett Rypien’s restricted free agent tender on Monday. Rypien is now set to become an unrestricted free agent.

Stidham, 26, will officially join the 90-man roster on Wednesday.
