Former 49ers offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey is set to sign with the Broncos, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reports. The deal is expected to be for five years and worth $87.5 million with $50 million guaranteed, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
San Francisco selected McGlinchey in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft, and the tackle spent the past five seasons as a starter for the team, including in his rookie season. After an injury-shortened 2021 campaign, McGlinchey played in every game last season as the 49ers won the NFC West and reached the NFC championship game.
For Denver, McGlinchey likely will start at right tackle, as the team already has Garett Bolles signed for the long term at left tackle. The Broncos allowed a league-leading 63 sacks in 2022 as the offensive line and quarterback Russell Wilson never got on the same page.
With this contract, McGlinchey will rank among the 10 highest-paid offensive lineman in the league.
