In his recent four-round 2024 NFL mock draft, Curt Popejoy of Draft Wire has the Denver Broncos adding a quarterback, but not in the first round.
Popejoy’s mock has the Broncos selecting Alabama pass rusher Dallas Turner with their first-round pick. Denver then has to wait until the third round to go back on the clock (the team’s second-round pick was traded to the New Orleans Saints as part of the Sean Payton deal last year).
In the third round, the Broncos select South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler. Four other QBs are picked between the Turner (No. 12) and Rattler (No. 76) selections: Michael Penix (No. 39), Bo Nix (No. 42), J.J. McCarthy (No. 43) and Michael Pratt (No. 74).
Rattler (6-1, 200 pounds) completed 68.9% of his passes for 3,186 yards with 19 touchdowns against eight interceptions last season.

The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27. The Broncos currently hold six picks, and they hope to acquire more.
