The Denver Broncos trailed the Indianapolis Colts 13-7 at halftime on Sunday and quarterback Bo Nix threw three interceptions.
Nix and Co. bounced back with 24 unanswered points in the second half and Denver’s rookie quarterback finished the day with three touchdown passes. It was an ugly win, but a win nonetheless.
“I think it speaks to our team,” Nix said of the team’s resilience. “It speaks to what we’ve been able to do this year, what we’ve overcome, the adversity we’ve gone through. In a game like today, we were it felt like down there for a while, especially in the first half. Good teams respond on a day like today. Good teams find ways to win, and playoff teams find ways to win these close ones. I felt like that’s what we did. It’s a sign of a good football team, and we have that.
“We have a really good defense that played outstanding again today. They’re going to continue to play well, and then special teams, they gave us a spark in the second half. Then offense, we finally did what we were supposed to do and we finished some drives and got the ball in the end zone. It’s a team effort, but I feel like it’s a good sign, a sign of a good team. It’s a good sign that we’re winning these close games, the tough ones that don’t necessarily look pretty, but we’re just finding ways to win.”
Up next for the Broncos is a Thursday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16. Denver will look to bounce back from a 23-16 loss to the Chargers at home earlier this season.
