Broncos met with TE Brock Bowers at the NFL combine

The Denver Broncos met with Georgia’s Brock Bowers at the NFL combine earlier this week, the tight end confirmed during his media availability.

Bowers (6-4, 230 pounds) is widely considered the best tight end in this year’s class. Bowers is a two-time national champion and a two-time winner of the John Mackey Award, given to college football’s best tight end each season.

In three seasons with the Bulldogs, Bowers totaled 175 receptions for 2,538 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also rushed 19 times for 193 yards and five scores. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Bowers to George Kittle, a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro.

Greg Dulcich has struggled with injuries through his first two seasons and Adam Trautman is set to become a free agent in March. Even if Denver re-signs Trautman, the team could use a play-maker at tight end.

Bowers fell to No. 12 in the NFL Wire network’s latest mock draft and we picked him for the Broncos at that spot. The talented tight end could certainly be in play for Denver next month.

The Broncos hold six picks in the 2024 NFL draft (April 25-27).
