The Denver Broncos had a formal interview with FSU’s Fabien Lovett at the NFL combine earlier this offseason, the defensive lineman revealed during his media availability in Indianapolis.
Lovett (6-4, 314 pounds) spent two years at Mississippi State before transferring to Florida State in 2020. He went on to play four years at FSU and Lovett is now set to enter the NFL as a 24-year-old rookie.
Lovett recorded 74 tackles (12 behind the line), five sacks, four pass breakups and one forced fumble in 36 games with the Seminoles. He earned honorable mention All-ACC recognition in 2021 and 2022.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Lovett to Eddie Goldman, who was a second-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft. Lovett is projected to be a late-round pick or undrafted free agent this spring.

The Broncos do not currently hold a seventh-round pick, so unless they are looking to trade back into the final round, they are likely looking at Lovett as an UDFA prospect. The NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.
