Christmas didn’t go according to plan for the Denver Broncos as they were blown out by the shorthanded Los Angeles Rams, 51-14. And a day after that embarrassing loss, the front office is making a change.
The Broncos fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett on Monday, moving on after less than one full season with the team. Denver hired him this past offseason, pairing him with new quarterback Russell Wilson. But 15 games in, things have been nothing short of a disaster; Denver owns a 4-11 record and has the worst offense in football.
The Rams aren’t going to celebrate a coach getting fired but their win over Denver – in blowout fashion, nonetheless – was the last straw for Hackett’s tenure with the Broncos. The Rams, meanwhile, improved to 5-10 on the year, earning their second win in the last three weeks.
