The Kansas City Chiefs are working on finalizing terms of a trade to acquire wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans, according to multiple reports.
Hopkins, 32, is not the player he once was, but he’s still a big, physical receiver who could prove to be a threat in the red zone for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He totaled 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
The Denver Broncos are now set to face Hopkins in Week 10 on the road and in Week 18 at home. In five career games against the Broncos, Hopkins has hauled in 30 receptions for 329 yards and two touchdowns.
Through six games with the Titans this season, Hopkins totaled 15 receptions for 173 yards and one score. A five-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro, Hopkins was considered one of the NFL’s best receivers in his prime.
“Nuk” will join a Chiefs wide receiver room that includes Skyy Moore, Xavier Worthy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman and Justin Watson.
The NFL’s trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Stay tuned as more moves could be on the way.
