Heading into the 2022 season, Denver Broncos offensive tackle Garrett Bolles can hardly contain his excitement speaking about new quarterback Russell Wilson.
“I love [Wilson’s] determination; I love his focus, I love his mental [approach to the game]; I love everything,” said Bolles during a press conference last Tuesday.
Bolles compares this attitude Wilson brings to Denver with three legends of a different sport: basketball.
“You talk about some of the greatest athletes — Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Michael Jordan — the type of mentalities those athletes have, that’s just what he has,” Bolles explained. “He’s just so focused all the time, ready to rock and roll.”
Combined, the three hardcourt legends have 15 championship rings; a nearly impossible feat to replicate in the NFL. However, if his assessment of the quarterback situation is correct, Bolles believes that Wilson’s unique combination of determination, focus and mental approach towards the game is the perfect formula for what the Broncos have been missing since the retirement of another Denver legend: 2021 Hall of Famer, Peyton Manning.
Wilson can help the Broncos get back to their winning ways this fall.
