It’s usually the quarterbacks in the NFL who buy holiday gifts for the offensive line on their team in gratitude for doing all the dirty work in the trenches, but sometimes, the running backs pitch in.
That was the case with Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco 49ers O-line: He bought them all golf bags, tequila and club fitting, which is lovely.
And the running back got a classy shoutout from QB Brock Purdy, who fully admitted to reports that “Financially, I wouldn’t be able to cover that right now” when it came to that level of gifts that CMC bought. Per Spotrac: Purdy is making somewhere in the neighborhood of $870,000 this year. McCaffrey got a $21.5 million signing bonus in 2020 when he signed.
