Just like that, the WWE Royal Rumble has come and gone and what an eventful show it was!
We were treated to some pulsating matches and surprising moments which left our jaws on the floor.
One of which was the return of Ronda Rousey after nearly three years away and she sent the Missouri crowd into absolute bedlam.
Brock Lesnar also had an eventful night, as he went from challenging for the WWE title to entering the Royal Rumble at number 30.
Bobby Lashley got his hands on the WWE title for the second time on Saturday night, but he faces a stiff challenge to hold on to it later this month.
'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey is back!
As stated in last week’s column, WWE were planning to bring back the former Raw women’s champion for the showpiece, and that’s exactly what happened.
The former UFC star was the 28th entrant into the women’s royal rumble match and didn’t waste any time making her presence felt.
She eliminated Natalya, Shotzi and Brie Bella in quick time, before reaching the final two with none other than Charlotte Flair.
The combat icon sent her rival over the top rope to win the match and punch her ticket to WrestleMania, where she will face a champion of her choosing.
This Monday on Raw, Rousey was deciding to choose either Becky Lynch or Flair to face on the grandest stage, when she was interrupted by the Irishwoman.
As the champion began a verbal tirade on her old foe, a less than impressed Ronda delivered a brutal armdrag to Big Time Becks, before announcing she will make her decision on Friday Night SmackDown.
Brock Lesnar chooses WrestleMania opponent
Brock Lesnar began the Royal Rumble event by defending his WWE title in a dream match against Bobby Lashley.
Fans had been clamouring for this match for so many years and it was as physical as we expected, but the match’s ending? Perhaps not so much.
Roman Reigns, who opened the show with his match against Seth Rollins, burst into the ring and delivered a devastating spear to Lesnar, and what happened next left everyone well and truly stunned.
Reigns looked down at Paul Heyman outside the ring, who appeared to ditch the Universal champion in favour of his old client several weeks ago, managed to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes.
He handed Reigns the WWE title, which the Tribal Chief used to smash into the skull of Lesnar, which allowed Lashley to pin him for the win.
Reigns walked back up the aisle and sported a smug look in the direction of a seething Lesnar, with Heyman back by his side.
The Head of the Table and his special counsel outsmarted the Beast, but he will soon get a chance at revenge as he selected Reigns as his opponent at WrestleMania in April. Cue the fireworks!
No rest for new champ Bobby Lashley
As mentioned previously, the All Mighty WWE champion won the prestigious belt for the second time on Saturday, thanks to the assist from Reigns.
Any hopes he would get the chance to celebrate his historic win on Raw were soon dashed as official Adam Pearce announced he will defend the belt inside the Elimination Chamber next month in Saudi Arabia.
Lesnar made an appearance and was keen to contest a title rematch with Lashley, but Pearce decided to place him in the chamber match along with Austin Theory, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins and Riddle.
The two-time Royal Rumble winner is keen to win the match, regain the WWE title and face the Universal champ Roman at WrestleMania with both titles at stake.
The All Mighty is no stranger to overcoming the odds, but will this chamber match prove to be a step too far?
Find out February 19 when the Elimination Chamber event takes place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
