Broadway Ticket Sales Rebounding, Led By Hugh Jackman's 'Music Man': Report

The trouble in River City is translating to very good news on Broadway, as the new musical production of “The Music Man” starring Hugh Jackman grossed $3.5 million last week, more than any show since New York City’s theaters reopened after their COVID-19 pandemic-induced shutdown.

What Happened: The New York Times cited Broadway League data in reporting “The Music Man” generated more than $3 million in ticket sales for five consecutive weeks. The highest average ticket price for the show is $283 and the highest premium ticket price is $697.
