Broadway Hotel in Leeds taped off by police as man 'glassed' in pub fight

A man has been left with serious injuries following a Leeds pub fight.

At around 1.52am this morning (Saturday), police were called to the Broadway Hotel in Dewsbury Road following reports of an assault. Eyewitnesses reported the victim was "glassed" by a punter and stabbed.

The pub goer was left with serious injuries and rushed to hospital where he had urgent treatment. Officers from West Yorkshire Police put a cordon around the pub while they investigated the scene.

WYP confirmed that the scene remains in place, however the pub is open to customers. Two crime scene investigation vans, a police car, and blue tent were spotted outside the pub around 1pm on Saturday (July 30).

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed the details of the incident to Leeds Live. They said: "At 1.52am today (30/07), police were called to reports of an ongoing fight outside the Broadway Hotel in Dewsbury Road, Hunslet.

"Emergency services attended and found a male with serious injuries after being assaulted. The male was taken to hospital with serious injuries which required urgent treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing and a scene remains in place at the Broadway Hotel at this time."
