Cartwright cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce from the Vanderpump Rules alum, with the date of their separation listed as Jan. 24. She has petitioned to block both herself and Taylor from receiving spousal support and is seeking primary legal and physical custody of their 3-year-old son Cruz, with Taylor allowed visitation rights.
Following their separation, Taylor confirmed he was receiving in-patient treatment for his mental health. In an Instagram post, he expressed his commitment to getting better for his son. Cartwright first addressed their separation on their joint podcast in February, explaining that they were taking time apart for the sake of her mental health.
Despite the conclusion of filming for the first season of the Vanderpump Rules spinoff in 2023, production resumed to capture the breakup. The newly filmed scenes depicted escalating tension between the couple, with Cartwright expressing feeling drained and questioning how much more she could endure.
