BRIT Awards viewers were left stunned after hearing Daisy May Cooper make a comment about the Sugababes that ITV failed to mute.
The This Country and Never Mind The Buzzcocks star was presenting the award for the best alternative or rock act, which was given to The 1975.
And in the run-up to this, she made a remark about the chart-topping girl group the Sugababes that made it live on air without being censored on time.
Birmingham Live reports that the 36-year-old mentioned that earlier in the night, she was in the bathroom when she saw the Sugababes.
"And they weren’t doing coke – they were lovely," she then added, leaving viewers at home and in attendance stunned. ITV failed to censor the joke in time - but bleeped out the aftermath.
People flocked to social media to joke about the blunder, with one fan saying: "Daisy May Cooper saying 'don't worry about the Sugarbabes they weren't doing coke.' Got me screamin' why was that not blurred out."
Another wrote: "Thoughts and prayers to the 'Audio Muted' team failing to mute Daisy May Cooper talking about the Sugababes in the toilets #BRITs."
"The person on the censor button being too late to mute Daisy May Cooper’s audio #BRITs," a third said. Someone else joked: "What! Bad muting there of a gag about @Sugababes doing coke in the toilets."
And another penned "But it’s live Live LIVE - not!!! Most of its felt soulless and dire. Hardly a smile to be seen. If you’re happy then let’s see your faces show it." Earlier on in the evening, the Sugababes made an appearance on the red carpet.
Elsewhere during the glamourous event, host Mo Gilligan had to apologise for "technical difficulties" that meant viewers at home ended up seeing an old clip of Adele performing at last year's awards.
The evening finished off with DJ David Guetta performing a medley of his top tunes, including I'm Good (Blue) with a special appearance from Sam Ryder.
