The winter could finally be drawing to a close as sunshine and mild temperatures are set to sweep across the UK this week.
The Met Office has predicted that the coming days will look "dry and settled" with "increasing sunshine" across much of the country.
Temperatures are predicted to be between 9C and 11C for many, but may reach highs of 13C across parts of eastern Scotland and southern England. Highs of 15C could be seen in the northwest of England on Tuesday.
Forecasters say this is above average for this time of year - February temperatures are usually around the 8C or 9C mark in southern England and 6C in Scotland.
A "warm air mass" moving in from the south will continue to bring sustained high pressure, which in turn will stave off wintry conditions for the most part, though some cloud cover may remain.
A Met Office spokesman told The Sun:
"For much of the UK, this weekend and early next week will be dry and settled.
"This is thanks to a ridge of high pressure that is building across the country. Around this ridge of high pressure, winds are coming up from a southerly direction, helping to bring milder air to the UK."
BBC meteorologist Stav Danaos says that more of a breeze - combined with the high pressure - will ensure warmer temperatures remain until at least Wednesday.
He did warn, however, that more unsettled conditions are to be expected in the second half of the week.
"Into Wednesday, a more substantial frontal system starts to work its way into Scotland and Northern Ireland," Danaos said. "Some heavy rain there for a time, followed by some blustery showers."
He added: "This band of rain will weaken as it moves across England and Wales - barely anything on it - and on either side, we should continue to see some sunshine. It will be very mild in the southeast."
For the end of the week, Danaos says that Thursday and Friday "look more unsettled, with rain at times and some strong winds".

Fog and low cloud in southeast lifting and clearing during morning. Thicker cloud and some rain/drizzle across northwest at times. Otherwise dry with sunny spells and feeling warm in places.

Some early mist of fog Wednesday, then cloudy with spells of rain arriving in the northerwest and spreading southeastward, sunshine and showers following into the north. Drier on Friday. Mild.
