At Trooping The Colour, the nation's hearts were captured by Seamus, an Irish Wolfhound who is the official regimental mascot of the Irish Guards.
Brits flocked to social media to comment on the "good boy" and brand the parade the "fanciest dog walk ever".
And now another animal has stolen the show on the second day of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations and left people "howling".
As royal fans tuned into the BBC's coverage of the service of thanksgiving for the Queen's at St Paul's Cathedral, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge or the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, they instead saw a pigeon.
A random pigeon was spotted on the steps of St Paul's ahead of the royal family's arrival - and even David Dimbleby got distracted by the bird.

Taking to Twitter, a number of people shared their thoughts on the pigeon.
One person said: "My favourite thing about this morning’s Jubilee coverage is the BBC News commentator giving the play-by-play of the pigeon on the steps of St Paul’s."
Another wrote: "Howling at that pigeon just casually on the steps of St Paul's waiting for the royals."
A third proclaimed: "That Pigeon on the steps of St Paul’s is my favourite member of the Royal Family."
Someone else posted several laughing emojis, saying: "The random pigeon on the steps of St.Paul’s."
"I’m here for Dimbleby talking about a pigeon on the steps of St Paul’s cathedral while waiting for members of the royal family," added a different user.
Others were concerned the bird might end up inside St Paul's, with a sixth adding: "I hope the pigeon on the steps of St Paul's doesn't fly through the open Big west doors! Having just had a pigeon in one of our churches for the last week I know the terrible mess they make!"
The Platinum Jubilee service at the cathedral is intended as a way to give thanks to the Queen for her 70 years on the throne.
However, Her Majesty is not in attendance.
Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday evening that she had reluctantly decided not to attend after experiencing "discomfort" after the Jubilee celebrations that day.
They added that the Queen appreciated and enjoyed a "memorable" first day of festivities.
