The National Grid ESO has raised the discount it will offer for Brits who use energy outside of peak hours.
It means that you could save a fortune on your energy bill by not using electric-hungry appliances when average use is at its highest. The discount on offer is now being increased from 52p per kilowatt hour to a whopping £3.
Therefore, you could save on average £100 this winter just by changing the times you use large appliances such as a washing machine or cooker. Brits have previously been warned that they could face three-hour blackouts when temperatures reach their coldest in the coming months, the Mirror reports.
