Briton jailed in India after his wedding asks Foreign Secretary to help secure release

A British man, imprisoned in India for over eight years, has declared he is "stuck in a broken country with a broken judicial system". His family and MP are now urging Yvette Cooper to bring him home during her visit there this week.

Jagtar Singh Johal, a 39-year-old man from Dumbarton, near Glasgow, has been held in India since his arrest by authorities in 2017, just weeks after his wedding there.
