Britney Spears' former bodyguard has said her two sons enjoyed going to the cinema, but claimed their superstar mum would make them leave halfway though a film.
The singer, 40, has finally got her freedom back after being placed under a conservatorship back in 2008 which was led by her father Jamie Spears. That came to an end last November, meaning she now controls her personal life and $60 million estate.
Britney then married Sam Asghari in June this year, but her two sons Sean and Jayden — who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline — did not attend the service.
Speculation grew about their fractured relationship and her former bodyguard Fernando Flores, 41, has revealed Britney would make her sons leave the cinema halfway through a film and "wouldn't take no for an answer".
"A favourite thing was to go to the cinema, but Britney would often insist on leaving halfway through the movie. She would say, ‘OK, it’s time to go.’ I would say, ‘The kids want to stay,’ but she wouldn’t take no for an answer," he told The Sun.
"The boys would be upset, crying, and you can’t treat children like that."
The Mirror has contacted Britney's representative for comment.
Fernando also said it "doesn't surprise him" that Britney "no longer sees her kids". He said he always felt they would make the decision not to stay with her when they were old enough.
Britney’s sons were aged four and three when Fernando was brought in as her part-time bodyguard in 2010. He quit his job after just eight months and later sued for sexual harassment.
Fernando claimed the Toxic singer regularly exposed herself to him. Britney and her family denied all claims.
Britney has now released new music for the first time in six years when she collaborated with Sir Elton John, 75, for Hold Me Closer, a mash-up remix of his songs Tiny Dancer and the One.
