Britney Spears has switched off the comments on her social media amid speculation from fans that she's not the one posting on her account anymore.
The Oops!…I Did It Again songstress, 42, has stopped her 41million followers from commenting on her new videos and snaps on Instagram.
Only recently fans began to wonder if the chart-topping singer was in control of her social media accounts, suggesting someone was posting on her behalf.
One fan tweeted: "Is anyone else worried about Britney Spears? Her instagram comments are off now because people kept commenting that they don’t think she’s safe and that it’s really her posting. And her posts have been so bizarre. I hope she’s okay though."
"Not gonna lie Britney looks like a hostage in her recent Instagram posts and that’s super scary to me," another added.
A third wrote: "I think we’ve officially lost Britney. That’s definitely not her posting on Instagram anymore, hope she’s okay tho."
Posting a slurry of clips and pictures from a recent trip to "Mexico", Britney said in a recent caption that Instagram "doesn’t like posts of people revealing their bodies anymore".
"I’m marking my eyes !!! I’ve changed my name to Brooklyn !!! Psss this is before I got wet in the shower !!!," she said in her most recent post's caption.
Her Instagram comments switch-off comes after Britney explained that she was behind the reason her page had mysteriously disappeared "a few times" after "accidentally" deleting it.
She claimed she "pressed the wrong button", wiping her page – which boasts more than 41.6million followers.
In a new post she said: "I know my Instagram has been down a few times but honestly I did the last two times myself !!!"
Making referencing one of her hit tracks, she added: "Oops ... I accidentally pressed the wrong button ... damn that stupid button."
Some have even began speculating that Britney is no longer in control of her socials, suggesting that someone else is posting for her.
It came just one day before her husband Sam Asghari took to his own Instagram, addressing concerns about Britney's absence from the social media platform.
"Social media can be traumatizing. Sometimes it's good to take a break," he said in a series of Story snaps. "She has her voice and is a free woman."
Addressing why he hasn't shared any recent pictures of his wife, Sam added: "I have respect for her privacy and I protect it at all times...
"Out of respect for her privacy, I don't post her 247. I ask for permission if I ever do."
