Britney Spears whipped up her fans into a frenzy on Friday by referring to fiancé Sam Asghari as her 'husband' sparking suspicions the two may have secretly tied-the-knot.
The 40-year-old pop singer has been in a relationship with backing dancer Sam since 2016 and the couple became engaged in September last year.
In a gushing post for his 28th birthday, the Toxic singer wrote: 'Such an amazing pic of my husband @samasghari !!!!'
Adding: 'He's such a hard worker and he amazes me each day with his passion for life !!!! I’m so lucky to be able to share my life with him …. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.'
The comment sparked excitement from her fans, as well as celebrity friends, including Rosie O'Donnell who commented: 'Congratulations.'
Another fan excitedly called her 'Britney Asghari' in the comment section.
However, Asghari responded himself simply to joke about the picture she had posted of him, writing: 'I'm saying no more cake baby no please.'
The black and white image showed him in a white shirt and suit, another sign that got fans thinking the pair may have secretly tied the knot.

They've recently been enjoying yet another luxury holiday, staying at The Brando, a unique luxury resort on French Polynesia's breathtakingly beautiful private island of Tetiaroa.
Earlier on Friday, Britney uploaded a video that showed a box full of baby turtles being freed onto a beach and scampering across the sand.
She wrote: 'My husband @samasghari sent me this and said: 100 baby turtles leave the hatch only 20 make it to reefs because most get eaten by sharks only 1 strong strong Turtle makes it out of 100 and comes back a year later stronger than ever and hatches babies He said these turtles represented life !!!!!'
The singer has also been thrilling fans with racy snaps from the holiday – where she has stripped off naked.
The star shared images of herself cavorting in the sand and seat completely starkers but with diamond emojis covering her nipples and privates.
Explaining her reasons for baring all online, the star wrote: 'showing my bod in French Polynesia as a rebel and free WOMAN.
'I WILL DO BIG LETTERS CAUSE I THINK THAT MEANS IT’S IMPORTANT AND I DON’T WANT TO BE LEFT OUT …. SHOWING THINGS OF IMPORTANCE.'
Elsewhere, the singer has hinted she hopes to welcome a new child with her fiancé.
The mum-of-two wrote online in celebration of Sam's birthday: "Happy Birthday [present emojis] to my Fiancé … I love you so much [love heart emoji] … I want a family with you … I want it all with you !!!!"
While birthday boy Sam himself mysteriously commented: "Millions of things to wish for [love heart emoji] I only have one wish."
Britney is mum to sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, from her past marriage to dancer Kevin Federline, 43, which lasted from 2004 until 2007.
