Britney Spears has sparked concern by deactivating her account for the fourth time in the past five months.
It comes amid fears from fans that the 41-year-old Toxic hitmaker isn't in control of her own account after sharing a number of unusual posts.
Among them included one gushing about her sister Jamie Lynn Spears, despite being estranged from her younger sibling for years and being vocal over Jamie's lack of support while she was under a conservatorship.
While some have suggested that another post, which was a barbed coded message to another celebrity, was actually aimed at Jamie. This has led a selection of fans to believe that Britney's post about Jamie was actually written by someone else as opposed to herself.
Britney deleted her Instagram account back in mid-November after refusing to join her husband Sam Asghari on an Instagram Live.
She said at the time: "I don’t wanna jump in, I have nothing to say. I don’t wanna talk to them right now,"
Back in October, Britney also deleted her account after slamming how her family treated her during her conservatorship.
"My dad always told me I was fat so! never felt pretty or good enough and I think the thing that made me feel the UGLIEST was the FEAR in being scared of what he would do… I looked uneasy, unattractive, not in my skin," she said.
While her husband Sam has not yet responded to Britney deactivating her account, he has previously said that Britney is in control of her own content on social media.
Previously, Britney concerned fans by sharing photos of herself naked in the bath with strange captions.
Captioning the photos, she wrote: "I like to suck !!! Never professional pics … sucking comes easy for me !!! Keep clapping b****".
Her post left fans worried as they took to the comments, with one writing: "There’s no way a coherent Britney Spears posted this. I like to suck? Y’all really still think she has control of her socials? It’s fine though, it’ll be deleted within a day and then we can theorize elsewhere without offending any “fans” who are just loving watching her get exploited again."
While another asked: "Does a 14 year old run this account now? What is going on???"
A third commented: "Can someone please take her phone away from her. So sad to see her like this."
Others have since been speculating on Twitter : "CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL BRITNEY IS RUNNING HER INSTAGRAM ANYMORE #freebritney."
In response, one fan pointed out a strange edit that had been made on Britney's Jamie Lynn post: "The caption has been changed on the post about Jamie Lynn. Brit acknowledges it’s her birthday at the beginning now. It’s not her… it’s like an episode of Black Mirror #FreeBritney."
Another commented: "you know how leah remini essentially became an investigator to uncover all the truths about scientology? we need someone to do this for britney spears, bc her instagram account is beyond alarming. someone’s gotta get in & investigate where she is, if she’s OK, & what is going AWN."
