Britney Spears was reportedly prevented from performing with a music icon, according to an alleged leaked extract from her upcoming memoir.
The 41-year-old has yet to release her memoir, but supposed leaked details hint at some huge revelations from her time under her strict conservatorship by her father Jamie Spears.
The conservatorship, which was set up in 2008, controlled aspects of Britney's life including her finances, personal life and her music career.
One aspect of her singing career is reported to have included stopping the Toxic hitmaker from collaborating with "one of the most talented" female artists. In reported leaks from her memoir, Britney described herself as being "beyond excited" at the opportunity.
However, father Jamie stopped the collaboration from happening which an extract said was due to him 'wanting to take joy' from the singer's life.
An extract leaked across social media, including from the 'Free Britney' account on Twitter, reads: "Music has always been a huge part of my life, and one of the highlights was the opportunity to record a song with one of the most talented and well-known female artists of our time.
"I was beyond excited to get the chance to collaborate with her, and the thought of sharing a stage with someone I admired was a dream come true."
It continued: "However, my father had other plans. He stepped in and put a stop to it.
"He realized that this was something I was truly looking forward to, and he didn't want me to have any joy.
"He believed that it was his job to control every aspect of my life, even my music."
Whilst the female music star in the extract is not named, fans on social media have already begun to speculate who she could be.
One artist named repeatedly in tweets and comments is Beyoncé, as one fan tweeted: "Beyond…Bey…once?"
Another agreed, as the added: "We know she was supposed to be on a Beyoncé track but something happened… speculating. . ."
Another thought that Lady Gaga could be the mystery singer, as one social media user tweeted: "I say GAGA".
"Gaga, telephone?" said another.
The Mirror has contacted Britney Spears' representatives for comment.
