Britney Spears caught off guard by Sam Asghari's bizarre Instagram Live request in bed

Britney Spears claimed to have "nothing to say" to her fans when she was caught off-guard by her husband Sam Asghari.

The 40-year-old popstar shut down a request to appear on camera, as her 28-year-old partner started an Instagram Live without her knowledge. Sam was joined by more than 4,000 fans and asked his wife if she wanted to join in.

"Can I show you or no?" the actor asked while sitting in bed in the dimly lit video.

"Show me what?" a confused Britney replied. Her husband clarified: "On the live."

Britney still seemed confused, before Sam asked if he could turn the camera onto her.

Realising he was livestreaming, Britney said: "I'm always live!"

She added: "I have nothing to say. I don’t want to talk to them right now," referencing the thousands of people who had tuned in. Sam then quickly ended the video.

The video was shared on a Britney Spears Instagram fan account, with the singer's standoffish behaviour seeming to divide her fans.

"I hate these games. Just go live yourself Britney," one person commented. Another said: "Queen of hating her own fans!!"

"The drama," a third simply added.

Other people respected Britney's privacy and pointed out that she doesn't have to join in just because fans requested it.

"If the Queen doesn’t wanna speak to anyone…including us sadly lol She doesn’t have to. She’s allowed to have her own privacy," one fan commented.

Someone else agreed: "If she doesn't want to, she doesn't want to. Let her be. And saying no to being live doesn't mean she hates her fans for those saying that. Let her breathe ffs."

A third person added: "If she doesn’t feel like talking let her be she’s not obligated to do so if she wants to or if and when she feels ready to I’m sure she will."

Britney and Sam tied the knot back in June after getting engaged in September 2021.

The pair met while filming Britney's Slumber Party music video in October 2016 and started dating shortly after.
