Britney Spears' aunt has spoken out about the pop star's happy news after she confirmed that she's expecting a baby.
Leigh Ann Spears was speaking to Good Morning Britain's US correspondent live from her home in Nashville, just hours after Britney shared her happy news via Instagram.
The 40-year-old singer told her 40.5 million followers that she is pregnant with her third child after enjoying a holiday with her partner Sam Asghari.
Speaking to Noel Phillips, Leigh Ann said: "It is a happy ending. To go through the darkest days and feel so alone and so manipulated by your family and then all of a sudden, here you are, living the dream that you've paid for all along.
"Great fiancé, great supporter that he is, new baby on the way, cannot wait, so excited," Leigh Ann continued.
Referring to the fact that Britney was finally released from a 13-year-long conservatorship last year, Leigh Ann said her niece is doing a lot to empower other survivors.
"She is still fighting, she is not gonna be shut down," Leigh Ann said.
"She's gonna make sure that her voice is loud, like most survivors do that survive something like that.
"She is empowering women and men alike who have been put in situations that they cannot control," Leigh Ann added.
However, Britney's aunt remained quiet about whether or not Britney and Sam have actually married in secret recently.
The Baby One More Time hitmaker referred to Sam as her "husband" in her baby announcement post and many fans think they've already said "I do".
Actor Sam, 28, popped the question last year, with the happy couple going on to share their engagement news on social media in September 2021.
Writing on Instagram on Monday, mum-to-be Britney told her fans she will welcome her third child into the world later this year.
"I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back [confused emojis] … I thought “Geez … what happened to my stomach ???” My husband said “No you’re food pregnant silly !!!” So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby," she began her heartwarming update with.
But this isn't the first time Britney has referred to her beau as her husband online.
Last weekend, the Grammy award-winning star shared a snap of her partner of six-years on Instagram, and once again referred to the personal trainer and actor as her "husband" in the caption.
If Britney has tied the knot with the hunky actor, it will be her third marriage - after previously walking down to aisle in Las Vegas with Jason Alexander in 2004, and her three-year union with the father of her two children, dancer Kevin Federline.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
