A British woman was reportedly found dead with 'bruises all over her body' at home in Cyprus
The 38-year-old woman is understood to have been found at an apartment she shared with her partner in Kato Paphos, western Cyprus.
The Cyprus Mail reported that the woman's partner informed local authorities of the death saying he found the woman when he returned to their home on Wednesday afternoon.
Police have now launched a probe into the death, with forensic officers collecting evidence at the scene for examination, head of Cyprus police Michalis Nikolaou said.
Initial examinations found the woman had bruises all over her body and periocular hematomas ( black eye) in both eyes.
The woman's body was transferred to the Nicosia general hospital morgue, where an autopsy was set to take place at 1.30pm on Thursday, reports the Mail.
Investigators are hoping that the results will shed light on how the woman died.
Police are continuing their investigation.
