An 80-year-old British widow has been found head at her home in Spain after neighbours reported hearing gunshots. The pensioner's body was discovered at her property in Elche, near Alicante, on Wednesday afternoon.
According to local police reports she had been shot three times at close range at the rural property near Elche-Alicante Airport. Officials in Spain are trying to contact relatives before releasing more information, reports the Olive Press.
It is understood the alarm was raised when the woman failed to answer the door to a plumber she had booked to visit her home in the Torre Azul area.
