British military helicopters are reportedly poised to hijack Russian ships after the government identified legal grounds that will allow them to intercept tankers for the first time.
The UK can now abseil onto ships that do not have a valid national flag - a move Russia, Iran and Venezuela have been accused of exploiting to avoid oil sanctions.
