British Soap Awards 2022 winners list in full as Emmerdale's Paige Sandhu scoops top gong

The British Soap Awards returned on Sunday night for a night of continuing drama glitz and glamour after a two year absence due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event saw the biggest soaps go head to head, with Emmerdale and EastEnders winning the majority of the major gongs during the two-hour ITV televised event.

Host Phillip Schofield returned to roll out the red carpet at The Hackney Empire in London for actors in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

This year saw the awards become gender-neutral for the first time, which meant that the Best Leading Performer category saw the likes of Mark Charnock and Paige Sandhu battle it out – with Paige coming out on top, but Mark winning in the Dramatic Performance category.
