British Gas owner Centrica extends life of Lancashire nuclear power station

The life of a nuclear power station in Lancashire has been extended by the owner of British Gas.

Centrica has announced plans to extend operations at Heysham 1 until March 2026, two years later than originally planned.

The company has also extended the life of the nuclear power station in Hartlepool to the same date.
