The murder of a British Asian prisoner by a racist gang member, after they were put in the same cell, has prompted a coroner to contact the Government over the need to prevent more deaths.
The Ministry of Justice has said it is “leaving no stone unturned” to make British prisons safe following the “horrible act of violence”. Sundeep Ghuman died in February 2020 after he was violently assaulted with a table leg by a member of the so-called Racist Army of Woolwich at HMP Belmarsh.
