Britain has committed £7.8 billion in investment to 2030 under a new national space strategy aimed at strengthening the country's space capabilities, including detecting satellite collisions, hostile activity and solar storms before they can disrupt services millions of people rely on every day.
The plan, unveiled on 8 September by the government, replaces the previous National Space Strategy from 2021. It brings the government's space investment and activity under a single plan, with economic, scientific and defence priorities addressed within the same strategy.
