Britain’s Got Talent updates fans after Ant McPartlin falls live on TV

Britain’s Got Talent have reassured viewers that Ant McPartlin is doing OK after he fell during the live semi-finals on Monday night.

Fans of the ITV show watched as the 47-year-old slipped and fell to the ground in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli as he rushed to join Diversity on stage.

His co-host Dec Donnelly asked if he was alright following his slip, to which McPartlin comically responded: “I wet myself and farted at the same time!”

After composing herself after the calamity, judge Amanda Holden asked the host: “Is your coccyx alright?”

Unfortunately for McPartlin the embarrassing moment was referenced throughout the night, and was hilariously shown his fall in slow motion later in the show.

After seeing the clip, he joked: “I’m making a claim! That was a very slippery stage,” to which Dec added: “You better lawyer up Simon.”

Following his nasty live TV spill, viewers took to Twitter in their droves to comment on his fall and ask if he was alright.

One viewer at home tweeted: “Jesus Ant, that could have been nasty. Take care.”

“That looked SO painful. Hope Ant’s OK,” another penned. “I reckon that hurt more than he could show – bruises tomorrow.”

A fourth wrote: “Hope Ant is OK, that fall looked really bad but a pretty spectacular entrance”.

Amidst their concern, BGT made sure to reassure fans that McPartlin was doing alright, writing on their Twitter account: “Don’t worry, Ant’s fine!”

Following BGT’s announcement, the presenter was pictured leaving the show’s studios sporting a bruised cheek in photos obtained by The Sun. The Standard has contacted Ant McPartlin’s rep for comment.

On Monday’s show, viewers watched as Musa Motha, a professional dancer from London made it through to the final after an emotional performance.

While singer Amy Lou, who hails from Tipton, West Midlands, managed to secure a spot in the final after the judges were forced to pick between her and fellow singer Abi Carter-Simpson.

After a tie in the votes, it went down to public vote, meaning Amy went through.
