Britain's Got Talent's Amanda Holden left facing tough decision as semis surrounded by mystery

Amanda Holden has opened up about a tough decision behind the scenes at Britain's Got Talent ahead of the show's live shows starting on Monday night.

On Saturday night millions of ITV viewers tuned in for the final audition episode of BGT' s highly anticipated new series, as a last clutch of hopefuls aimed to make it through to the next round. With all of the Golden Buzzers gone, none of the weekend's contestants had a chance of getting a guaranteed spot in the semi finals, which kick off on Monday night, live from the Eventim Apollo in London.

And, while Britain's Got Talent viewers have seen Amanda and her colleagues Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams deliberating on who to put through to join their Golden Buzzer acts, there was no confirmation on the identity of the lucky ones, as Simon was forced to take part via video call due to him self isolating. That meant that heading into Monday's first semi, fans were none the wiser on who they'd be seeing on screen.

Sharing just how tough a call it was to pick who to send through, Amanda took to Instagram to write: " Picking the #BGT Semi-Finalists wasn’t easy! There was way too much talent!." Many fans were left saying the same thing underneath her post, with one replying: " Can't wait to see who got through," and a second wrote: "Step 1. Put all the kids through as it's a kid winning this year."

Some of the mystery surrounding the GBT semi finals was put to bed on Monday afternoon when the show's official Twitter account posted a video of all the competitors in action in the first show. The likes of David's Golden Buzzer act Born To Perform, spooky magician The Witch and impressionist Suzi Wild all featured.
